ALAMEDA — The Raiders didn’t get the win, but according to coach Jon Gruden Monday, at least they got an apology.
What could have been a game-clinching play by Derek Carr instead left enough time on the clock for the Jacksonville Jaguars to come back for a 20-16 win in the final game played Sunday at the Coliseum. Gruden said at his weekly press conference the NFL’s senior director of officiating admitted officials had erred in determining Carr had gone out of bounds on a first-down run.
“The league called, Al Riveron, he apologized and we accept the apology,” Gruden said through clenched teeth.
