Willie Brown had a classic “Hey mom” moment Friday at the NFL Draft.
The Raiders great announced the team’s first pick of the day, and second overall, after a quick note to his mother.
“Let me get a couple things out of the way… Happy mother’s day’s coming up in a couple weeks, guys, so go shopping for your mom, OK?” the Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback said. “My mom will be 103 in October. So her and Mrs. Al Davis… I won’t tell you her age — don’t worry about her age.”
Brown, 76, then reported that the Raiders were taking safety Obi Melifonwu out of Connecticut.
