Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie, 11-37 in first three seasons, feels as if he’s in a fair fight

ALAMEDA _ Finally, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie feels as if he’s in a fair fight.

His team is 3-3, and while that’s a long way from the top of the NFL food chain, it’s a significant upgrade from the 11-37 record during his first three seasons in charge of the Raiders’ football operation.

“You knew you had to take the punches,” McKenzie told beat writers Tuesday in his first public comments since training camp. “That’s just the way it goes, especially when you’re not winning. The key was really looking at the big picture, not to get so down on myself and the team and knowing what was ahead.
