Raiders owner Mark Davis doesn’t judge general manager Reggie McKenzie by the team’s 18-46 record in his four seasons at the helm, but by the progress Davis thinks Oakland has made.
So, with many experts picking the Raiders to have their first winning record in 15 years, Davis made a preemptive strike late Friday night. He gave McKenzie a four-year contract extension.
“Reggie’s contract was up at the end of this year & we felt it was time to reward him for the job that he has done,” Davis said.
Davis announced the extension at a training camp event for Raiders alumni and staff.
