Early on it looked like the Raiders would outclass the Giants. Marshawn Lynch took a handoff and went for 51 yards and a touchdown on the Raiders’ first possession. On the other side of the ball, the defense held Geno Smith and the Giants to three straight three-and-outs to begin the game.
There wouldn’t be a fourth straight three-and-out. In fact, with their first first down of the game, they went all the way, 74 yards for a game-tying touchdown to end the first quarter with a tie game.
The following drive, the Raiders moved into New York territory at the 45-yard-line.
