Raiders free agency primer: Assessing their major needs

The NFL’s so-called “legal tampering” period begins Tuesday, a two-day window when NFL teams are permitted to enter contract negotiations with the agents of soon-to-be unrestricted free agents.

It’s the same day a year ago when the Raiders made a big splash by coming to terms with left guard Kelechi Osemele and outside linebacker Bruce Irvin, both of whom proved to be wise investments.
