The Las Vegas Raiders sought secondary help in the draft to fill up the defensive backfield. On day three, they added two corners to add depth and hopefully develop into contributing players.
However, safety was not a position of need in the draft. Tom Telesco has a formula for the best play available during his draft, and he kept it consistent in the seventh round. He selected Trey Taylor from the Air Force, one of the most productive safeties.
Taylor was the Jim Thorpe Award winner for 2024 with three interceptions and a defensive touchdown this season.
