Raiders enjoy best overall game of season in dominant win at San Diego

The Raiders' Malcolm Smith and Chargers' Keenan Allen take top honors with the game balls in Oakland's 37-29 win.

SAN DIEGO -- It’s easy to tell Jack Del Rio spent nine years as an NFL head coach before he took over the Oakland Raiders this season.

He has the perspective and flat-lined approach of a man who has done this before. Del Rio knows, beyond all the rhetoric, that the bottom-line formula for a consistent, winning NFL team is sustaining strong overall play in all phases of the game.

On Sunday in their sixth game of the season, Del Rio’s Raiders played their most complete game of the season in a 37-29 victory over San Diego.
