Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders and QB Derek Carr are close to finalizing a contract extension that’s expected to pay him around $25 million per year.
According to Schefter, Carr and Raiders still are finalizing language, but this new contract could be announced as early as the end of this week.
Carr, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He is currently in the final year of his four-year, $5,371,802 contract and stands to make a base salary of $977,519 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Carr had thrown for 3,933yards while completing 63.
