Derek Carr is about to be the NFL’s first $25 million man.
The Raiders’ quarterback and the team are finalizing the language of a five-year contract extension that is expected to pay him $25 million a season, league sources said.
The quarterback will be the first to let everyone know, he tweeted Wednesday.
“Nothing done yet ... trust me you will hear it here first,” Carr tweeted in response to an ESPN report.
Carr had set a July 28 deadline — the start of training camp — and Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie was always confident it would get done before that.
