Raiders depth chart: Harrison Bryant has work cut out to earn backup tight end role

Signed at the onset of free agency back in March, Harrison Bryant’s arrival in the desert was viewed as a move to bolster depth and perhaps, bring aboard an experienced TE2 into the mix.

After all, the Las Vegas Raiders already had promising 2023 second-round pick Michael Mayer completing his rookie season. Veteran Austin Hooper, who split time starting with Mayer, signed with the New England Patriots at the start of free agency and as such, Bryant joining the Silver & Black was initially seen as an experienced tight end who can push and back up Mayer.
