Raiders’ Del Rio: Linebacker Moore “competing to be a role player”

ALAMEDA — Raiders linebacker Sio Moore practiced for the first time in three weeks Wednesday, but his return to the starting lineup faces a larger uphill climb.

“I think right now he’s competing to be a role player somewhere,” coach Jack Del Rio said of Moore, the team’s third-leading tackler last year.

Moore, in his third year out of Connecticut, has started 22 games over the past two years and all 11 games he played last year. He missed two early games with an ankle injury and the final three with a hip injury that required surgery in the offseason.
