ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders fired defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr. last week and his defensive playcalling duties were assumed by assistant head coach/defense John Pagano.
The Raiders then gave up a season-low 14 points to the Denver Broncos.
Any, um, connection?
“It was guys flying around,” outside linebacker Bruce Irvin said this week. “Just letting it go, man, and it had nothing to do with John Pagano or Kenny Norton. It was just guys making a decision to go out there and play football and communicating, executing the calls.”
About that whole, flying around and playing fast slogan.
