ALAMEDA — When the Raiders release their list of players Saturday that were released to reach the mandated roster size of 53, it will include Jelani Jenkins, a candidate to start on the weak side at linebacker.
Jenkins, 25, was the only free agent the Raiders signed in the off-season. The one-year contract worth $1 million was an indication that Jenkins would be in a competitive situation, however, and for most of training camp he ran behind second-year player Cory James.
Jenkins, who played four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, made the announcement himself on social media.
