With the Raiders’ final pick of the 2019 NFL draft Mike Mayock “stumped the truck” in taking Prairie View A&M defensive end Quinton Bell. At the time it felt like Mayock was kinda just showing off with the pick. And it still kinda feels that way. After spending the first six weeks of this season on the team’s practice squad, Bell has been released.
Bell is a former wide receiver turned pass rusher, so he was always a long shot and a project as an NFL prospect. This made him a likely cut and candidate for the practice squad.
