The Raiders lost out on the opportunity to move to Los Angeles this week, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the team will be playing in Oakland next season.
Raiders ownership may still move away from its East Bay home, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Those sources, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of ongoing negotiations, said that it is still possible for the team to move this offseason because the Raiders satisfied the NFL’s relocation guidelines during the recent, three-team competition to move to Los Angeles.
The St. Louis Rams were awarded the Los Angeles market, and are expected to move this offseason with the promise of a new stadium in the city of Ingleside.
