Raiders conclude draft by taking Kansas CB Dexter McDonald

The Raiders waited until their final selection in a 10-man draft class Saturday to select a cornerback, taking Dexter McDonald of Kansas No. 242 overall.

McDonald started 24 games over the past two seasons for the Jayhawks, where he was a teammate of fifth-round pick Ben Heeney, a linebacker.

At present, the projected Raiders starters at cornerback are DJ Hayden and TJ Carrie, with Keith McGill in the possible third corner with Neiko Thorpe and James Dockery in reserve.

McDonald has the size to be a press corner at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and his ability to jam wide receivers at the line of scrimmage is considered a strength.
