Raiders coaching search 2025: Just get the best guy

The Las Vegas Raiders players and fans wanted Antonio Pierce back after he ended last season as the interim coach.

Team owner Mark Davis listened and and now, Davis is looking for the sixth full-time head coach in just over 13 years since he took over the team and his third in three years.

Davis needs to learn a lesson from the short, unsuccessful stint with Pierce. He shouldn’t listen to players and fan sentiment when it comes to an important move like a coaching hire shouldn’t matter.

Frankly, Raiders’ history shouldn’t be a factor.
