When head coach Jack Del Rio and his staff pulled Taiwan Jones aside this spring and told him they wanted to move him back from cornerback to running back, they said it wasn’t just for the sake of moving him. The Raiders had plans for the speedster.
“‘We’re not just moving you to find a spot, we’re moving you because we think you can really contribute,’” Del Rio said they told Jones.
Del Rio read the fifth-year veteran’s reaction as, “Riiiiiiiight.”
“I think as time has gone on, he’s become more of a believer that we really do believe in him,” Del Rio said after Sunday’s 34-20 win over the Jets.
