ALAMEDA, Calif. -- A day after the Oakland Raiders extended the contract of fullback Jamize Olawale, coach Jack Del Rio praised the young player's growth and work ethic.
“He’s done a great job of coming in every day and working hard at his role,” Del Rio said of Olawale. “He’s a guy that can play a lot of different roles. He’s got special-teams value. He’s got value as a blocker and he can also catch the ball out of the backfield or carry the ball.”
Olawale, who was set to become a restricted free agent in the offseason, was signed to a three-year extension, the team announced.
