ALAMEDA _ The most exasperating part of the Raiders’ third straight loss for coach Jack Del Rio was having the Detroit Lions right where they wanted them, only to come up empty.
“If you ask me, `Hey, would you like the ball in the hands of your offense down three with a chance to win the game?,’ ” Del Rio said Monday at his weekly press conference, “absolutely. Plenty of time left. And we didn’t get that done.”
It was the third straight week Del Rio has had to rehash the grim details of a defeat as the Raiders have gone from 4-3 with playoff buzz to 4-6 and virtually an also-ran.
