The Raiders got rid of a player for the second straight day, waiving free-agent punter Colby Wadman from UC Davis on Friday.
Wadman’s exit wasn’t a surprise, especially after Oakland drafted University of Florida punter Johnny Townsend in the fifth round of the NFL Draft last month. Wadman was the lone punter on the roster after Pro Bowler Marquette King was released on March 30 and before Townsend was drafted.
Wadman, who tried out for the Colts last year, averaged 41.0 yards per punt in his four years with the Aggies (2013-16) but this was the first time he’s been on an NFL roster.
