When the Oakland Raiders selected Gareon Conley in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the team thought they could slide him right into the starting lineup as a rookie. However, Conley suffered a shin injury early on, and by the time the season came to an end in Los Angeles, he had only appeared in two games.
Fast forward to 2018, and the expectation is now that he will be the team’s top cornerback heading into the season. This offseason, the Raiders brought in Rashaan Melvin from the Indianapolis Colts to play alongside of him, but Conley’s shin is still in the process of recovering as the Raiders kicked off their team workouts.
