Raiders bring back S Nate Allen

ALAMEDA _ The Raiders apparently didn’t see enough of safety Nate Allen last season to cut the cord completely.

A day after Allen was released, the Raiders re-signed the veteran safety to an undisclosed contract Thursday, the club announced. Allen’s salary of $4.9 million would have been guaranteed had he been on the roster Wednesday.

Allen’s original deal had a maximum value of $23 million over four seasons and he earned $6.9 million last season in salary and bonus money. He had an MCL injury in the season opener, didn’t return until the 10th game of the season, and then re-injured his knee and ended the season on injured reserve.
