The Raiders announced the release of quarterback Josh Johnson, who the team signed in March as the fourth quarterback on the roster.
Johnson has been a NFL journeyman to say the least, playing for 11 teams since Jon Gruden and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him No. 160 overall in 2008.
Before signing with the Raiders this offseason, Johnson played for the Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants and Houston Texans.
With his departure, not only does Marshawn Lynch lose his cousin as a teammate, Oakland’s quarterback room is back to what it was in 2017: Derek Carr, EJ Manuel and Connor Cook.
