Tevin McDonald, an undrafted free agent safety, was signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Saturday in advance of the Raiders’ game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Starting safety Nate Allen left the season opener in the first quarter and was placed on the injured reserve/designated for return list, meaning he will miss a minimum of eight games. Charles Woodson, the other starter, dislocated a shoulder on a tackle attempt with a little over a minute to play and is officially listed as questionable.
If Woodson can’t play, the starters will likely be Larry Asante and Taylor Mays, the latter signed this week in the wake of the injuries at the position.
