Raiders add TE Paul Butler after minicamp tryout

This will undoubtedly fuel the jokes about Jon Gruden loving his tight ends, but he has added another one. He is former California PA tight end Paul Butler who announced his signing on twitter Monday.

In four years at Cal PA from 2013-16, with a medical redshirt his junior season, Butler caught 32 passes for 381 yards and 5 touchdowns.

The 6-6, 252-pound tight end attended the Raiders rookie minicamps this weekend on a tryout and earned a spot on the team.

Butler had tried out for the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and didn’t make the team.
