Andrew DePaola was signed this offseason to be the replacement for longtime long snapper, Jon Condo. His first season with the Raiders lasted one play. On the Raiders first punt of the ball game, DePaola ran downfield to try and make the tackle and pulled up limp without contact.
Tight end Lee Smith filled in admirably for DePaola at long snapper, with just one high snap that punter Johnny Townsend luckily was able to leap up, pull down, and get away without issue.
It turns out DePaola tore his ACL and has no landed on injured reserve.
