NAPA – Raiders running back Trent Richardson was removed from the active/non-football illness list on Thursday and was practicing with the team later that morning.
Richardson missed the first five training camp practices with an undisclosed illness, but was an active participant in a padded practice.
While there was some pessimism shrouding Richardson’s offseason program and his odds of making the 53-man roster, but this training camp and upcoming preseason games will determine his future in the East Bay.
The Raiders need depth behind Latavius Murray at running back. Marcel Reece and third down back Roy Helu – absent the last three workouts with injury -- carry the rock, but Richardson was brought in to be a complimentary back.
