Raiders activate Donald Penn off PUP, make a position switch

NAPA – The Raiders activated Donald Penn off the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday morning, and have asked him to switch positions.

The career left tackle was seen working on the right flank in his first practice back from Dec. 2017 Lisfranc foot surgery, a position he played just once as a professional.

He spent 24 snaps at right tackle in a 2016 regular-season opening victory at New Orleans, and then went back to his normal position. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons playing left tackle.

First-round pick Kolton Miller has played left tackle through the offseason program and training camp with Penn out.
