Raiders activate DE Mario Edwards Jr; place Calhoun on IR

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have activated DE Mario Edwards Jr. from the Reserve/Injured – Designated for Return List and added him to the active roster, the club announced Friday.

Edwards Jr. was placed on the Reserve/Injured List on Sept. 5 after suffering a hip injury in the preseason.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder was originally drafted by the Raiders in the second round (35th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he played in 14 games, making 10 starts and totaling 41 tackles (31 solo), two sacks, three forced fumbles and three passes defensed before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 15.
