Roughly eight months after filing a class-action lawsuit against the Oakland Raiders, nearly 100 former Raiderettes have been issued a settlement of $1.25 million, which will be dispersed amongst the plaintiffs.
The lawsuit, which was started by former Raiderette Lacy T., alleged that the Raiders had broken a long list of labor laws, primarily revolving around unpaid wages. Lacy had this to say when the lawsuit was filed:
“I know we’re just cheerleaders to people, but we’re low-wage workers working for a billion-dollar industry.”
The team did not pay her minimum wage or overtime.
