The Neiron Ball era is officially over, as the Oakland Raiders announced today that they waived the linebacker via a non-football injury clause.
Ball was a fifth-round selection (161st overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. He checked in at 6’3″ 235 pounds with a 4.65 second 40-yard dash at Florida’s Pro Day. With the team’s linebacker core in rough shape, many in Raider Nation were hoping he would be a long-term solution.
Unfortunately, Ball’s time on the field was limited to only six games, starting just two of them.
