Yesterday, the Oakland Raiders took the field against AFC West rivals in the San Diego Chargers for their first meeting this season. The Raiders defense came out fired up, playing with energy and swagger. Malcolm Smith intercepted Philip Rivers on the opening drive of the game, nearly returning it for a touchdown.
Smith was finally getting brought down inside the 5 yard line, to set up Latavius Murray for an easy 2 yard touchdown run. His 3rd of the season. The Raiders took the lead early on, and never looked back from that big moment, scoring on 7 straight possessions on offense, while the Raiders defense kept the Chargers offense in check for a majority of the game.
