Oakland Raiders: Tice talks about right tackle competition

The Oakland Raiders offensive line is set in stone entering training camp save for one position as the starting right tackle role is up for grabs this summer. Former second-round pick Menelik Watson and veteran Austin Howard competing for the fifth spot on the Raiders offensive line.

After Wednesday’s practice, offensive line coach Mike Tice spoke on the competition for the right tackle position. Telling reporters that he feels the competition for the job is going to go down to the wire between the two right tackles.

It is no surprise to hear that the right tackle job is up for grabs as Watson is coming off of an Achilles’ injury and lacks the experience of Howard.
