The Oakland Raiders will be without their starting safety and punt returner when they take to the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers today. 2014 late round pick TJ Carrie ruled as inactive for Sunday’s all-important game in the AFC Wild Card race as a blow for Oakland’s pass coverage.
Carrie was playing through pain for the past couple of weeks with regular starting safety Nate Allen still on the IR-designated to return list, the second year defensive back moving from the starting cornerback role to alongside Charles Woodson at safety in what has been a successful move that jump-started the Raiders pass coverage.
