In the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Michigan defensive tackle, Maurice Hurst. Heading into the draft season, Hurst was seen as a first round talent, but a heart issue caused him to drop all the way to the fifth, where the Raiders were willing to take a chance on him.
Of course, the Raiders did their due diligence before making the pick, because obviously they did not want to put Hurst in any danger. Hurst was cleared by both Michigan, and Harvard, and while it is something that will always be monitored, it certainly did not affect him as a rookie.
