The Oakland Raiders playoff window was all but slammed shut at Ford Field on Sunday as the Detroit Lions followed up their upset of the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field with another win, upsetting the Silver and Black in a low scoring battle. Matt Stafford outdueling Derek Carr in a game that had more field goals than touchdowns.
Stafford’s gutsy response to the Raiders taking a 13-9 lead with a touchdown run followed by Donald Penn’s costly safety on a holding call in the endzone was enough for the Lions to take the win at home. Giving Oakland a third straight loss after things looked bright for the Raiders when they grabbed a Wild Card spot with a 4-3 record.
