The Oakland Raiders have added a new face to the defensive coaching staff, bringing former Chargers Defensive Coordinator John Pagano to be the Assistant Head Coach of the Defense.
It wasn’t a change like most fans have been hoping for, but at the very least, it’s a step in the right direction.
Pagano has been the Chargers defensive coordinator the last five seasons, and had been with the organization since 2002. As the DC, San Diego twice finished as a top ten defense — 2012 and 2014.
Pagano isn’t a Wade Phillips home-run type of hire, but he’s certainly a quality addition to the coaching staff.
