The five year run for Donald Penn and the Oakland Raiders is over. The team and Penn have mutually agreed to part ways, which was expected after the Trent Brown signing. The release of the veteran offensive tackle frees up $5 million in cap space.
This cements, for now, that Brandon Parker will be the backup swing tackle. Penn has indicated in a twitter post that he is not yet done with his football career. He will hopefully try to find work elsewhere and will possibly find it.
Donald Penn had been playing on borrowed time with the Oakland Raiders from the very moment they selected Kolton Miller with their first round pick.
