The Oakland Raiders made their final cuts to a 53 man roster on Saturday, saying goodbye to some names on the roster while making tough decisions at several positions. A deeper team another year into the team’s rebuild meaning that more talented players than in the past fell just short of making the team for the 2015 season.
Highlighting the list of cuts were the offensive duo of quarterback Christian Ponder and running back Michael Dyer. Two players who in early August looked like they had secure spots on the roster before falling off as the month progressed, Dyer eligible for the practice squad while Ponder will receive guaranteed money from the team after being cut.
