The Oakland Raiders biggest position battle this preseason is the competition at right tackle between veteran Austin Howard and former second-round pick Menelik Watson. A battle for the team’s final starting job on the offensive line that gives head coach Jack Del Rio, offensive line coach Mike Tice and general manager Reggie McKenzie a very difficult choice going forward.
In one corner is Howard, who played admirably for the Raiders while Watson was injured last season. Providing his veteran experience and stepping in to fill in for 13 games last season, earning 29 starts in his two seasons in Oakland since signing with the team in 2014.
