In the least surprising of three early cuts for the Raiders in getting to a 75 man roster, the team has opted to cut a rookie camp arm in former Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo according to reports from ESPN. Waiving the passer who played sparingly in the team’s three preseason games as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart behind Derek Carr, Christian Ponder and Matt McGloin.
Fajardo, who was a dual threat quarterback at Nevada, threw just six passes in the Raiders first two preseason games before failing to see the field on Sunday night. The rookie connecting on just two of those six passes, throwing an interception and taking a sack in the process during the weather-delayed game against the Minnesota Vikings.
