The journey to the Oakland Raiders was a long one for Giorgio Tavecchio, as he had some stops along his way to the Silver and Black. Playing his college ball at Cal, Tavecchio’s career started in the Bay Area, as he inked a three-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers out of college.
However, he did not get to sniff a regular season NFL game until last season, when he was promoted to the starting lineup after Sebastian Janikowski went down with a back injury. Seabass would never make it back to the lineup, paving the way for Tavecchio to kick in all 16 games, and he did a nice job filling in for the Raiders all-time leader in scoring.
