On Thursday, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis took aim at the Oakland A’s ten year lease at the Coliseum and its impact on the Raiders potential plans should they stay in the city. Comments that naturally drew the ire of A’s owner Lew Wolff, who is in his own battle with the city for a new stadium and didn’t take too kindly to Davis commenting on his ballclub’s situation to the media.
On Friday, Wolff issued a public statement that took plenty of shots at Davis. Mentioning that the Raiders have pursued plenty of options outside of the Bay Area, claiming that the A’s have opted to take a decade-long lease at the Coliseum because they are committed to stay in Oakland for the longterm.
