Tom Brady is now a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but as recently as this week, the Raiders reportedly were still in the mix for the six-time Super Bowl champion.
The Athletic's Vic Tafur reported Friday that the Raiders never made an official offer to Brady, but league sources confirmed they were "sniffing around" as late as this week, and had at some point informed Brady of a general ballpark number for a potential contract. However, according to Tafur, that ballpark number never approached what Brady ultimately received from Tampa Bay.
"The Raiders weren’t going to go as high as the guaranteed $25 million per year for two years that the Bucs gave the 42-year-old quarterback," Tafur wrote.
