The vote passed by count of 28-13 — exactly the number of votes needed to be approved.
Mark Davis issued a statement:
“I would like to thank Governor Sandoval, the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee, and the members of the Nevada Legislature on this historic day. All parties have worked extremely hard to develop and approve this tremendous stadium project that will serve as a proud new home for the entire Raider Nation.”
The plan for the Las Vegas project is to build a domed, 65,000-seat stadium. The estimated cost is $1.9 billion — $750 million coming from an increase in hotel room taxes on the Strip, $650 million coming from Sheldon Aldeson and $500 million coming from the Raiders.
