Nate Allen's window to return to Raiders has begun

Oakland Raiders starting safety Nate Allen should be back on the playing field within three weeks barring an unexpected setback.

His 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster started Tuesday. Allen, a free-agent signing from Philadelphia, suffered a knee injury in Week 1. He was put on the injured reserve with the designation to return. He began to work Tuesday, and the Raiders must activate him in the next three weeks. TJ Carrie is expected to move back to cornerback when Allen returns.
