The Raiders placed injured safety Nate Allen on injured reserve Wednesday, ending his season.
Allen has twice injured his knee during his initial year in Oakland after signing a four-year contract this offseason. He was hurt in the season opener and missed seven games while rehabilitated on short-term injured reserve.
He returned to play Nov. 15 against the Minnesota Vikings, but re-injured the knee Dec. 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs and hasn’t played since. He finishes the season with 11 tackles and one interception, a game-clinching pick against the Tennessee Titans.
That Titans game was the only one of the five games in which Allen played that the Raiders won.
