Last week it was reported that the Coliseum City project, led by Floyd Kephart, reached an important deadline in the effort to keep the Raiders in Oakland.
Today, it’s being reported that Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell last month to discuss the Raiders staying in the city they’ve called home for about 40 years.
The meeting was described as an introduction, and not a negotiation. Nonetheless, it is a positive sign for Oakland that they mayor is taking an active and direct role in keeping the Raiders in town.
Eric Grubman, the NFL’s point man for a potential Los Angeles relocation, was also present in the meeting.
